Before the Surgery
View Plastic Surgery, A Review for the consultation for anti-aging procedures.
I’ve lived my whole life hearing about how my face looks young, but after entering my 40s, giving birth and raising children, my face started to sag. The biggest stress for we was wrinkles around the mouth, deep nasolabial folds, and light forehead wrinkles. The foundation would clump around my lips almost right after putting on makeup and I always had to have bangs to hide wrinkles on my forehead. First of all, my face lost fat and elasticity with age, giving me a tired impression. With many sunken areas, my face would look shaded and my wrinkles would be seen more prominent making me look older. People around my age seemed to be getting anti-aging treatments such as facial lifting surgery, fillers, etc., so I decided to get a consultation also to improve my facial complex. The doctor at View Plastic Surgery did a fantastic job at calmly and thoroughly pointing out the facial areas that could be improved, something I wasn’t even aware of. The doctor helped me see how my temple and front cheek areas are sunken a lot. Also, being told that the horizontal wrinkles on my forehead that are shallow now will eventually develop into deep wrinkles if left untreated, I immediately decided to address it with facial fat grafting, thread lifting, and forehead Botox treatment. I hadn’t thought of thread lifting, but when the doctor pulled my face up a little to show what it would look like, I definitely could see the difference. I was also told that there is no worry about complications since the threads will dissolve and that it would be effective to use three types of thread along with the fat grafting. Facial lifting surgery was not suggested, considering my young age, but I was told that a combination of thread lift and fat graft would deliver a satisfactory result. I was also more relieved after being briefed about the surgery method. Eye surgery was not overly recommended, and I was told that my eyes could look much brighter and prettier even just with canthoplasty, so I decided to get epicanthoplasty, lateral and lower canthoplasty, and under-eye fat repositioning. It was only the consultation I got, yet I’m already thrilled at the thought of becoming younger. I didn’t even want to put on makeup or look in the mirror before, but now I’m looking forward to how different I will be after all the procedures at View Plastic Surgery.
Day 0 :
A review for the day of surgery.
On the day of surgery, I arrived at the hospital feeling a bit nervous. After changing into a hospital gown at the ward, I met two doctors(one for fat graft+lift & another for canthoplasty+under eye fat repositioning) so they could design on my face with a blue pen. How grateful was I to hear them say they’ll do their best! Since the eye plastic surgeon had already explained in detail which canthoplasty would suit me best, I decided to proceed with the already recommended plans: epi, lateral, lower canthoplasty, and under-eye fat repositioning. It was super convenient that someone would always assist and guide me whenever I had to move to the following procedure. The fat for facial grafting was extracted from my thighs, and there was no severe pain because I was under sedative anesthesia for the procedure. The Rejuran injection was a bit painful. Except for my blurred vision and the part where my face was tingling, and I was thirsty while recovering from the anesthesia, everything was better than I expected. I was very much satisfied as the wrinkles on my forehead were smoothed out, and my forehead now looked fuller. And it looks natural, just like the result my doctor was trying to deliver. While I was resting, a guardian of a patient next to my bed asked me what procedure I had done, saying how my forehead looked so beautiful. I felt great and thankful as the person also mentioned how my surgery seemed to have gone so well and how it certainly seemed like I’d become prettier. When I looked up reviews on the internet about canthoplasty surgeries, they were full of bruised and disgusting photos, so I was amazed that my surgical area looked so clean with no such bruises. I think that doctors at View Plastic Surgery are incredibly skilled at what they do. After being discharged, I applied eye ointment and eye drops, took the prescribed medicine, applied a cold compress for about 30 minutes, and went to bed earlier than usual. As I was told that I should sleep with my head positioned higher than my heart, I slept with a large pillow as a backrest. I slept well except for a little back pain. I’m looking forward to being able to become as young as 20s if I endure this time.
Day 3 :
The facial swelling got worse the day after surgery. The bruises on the thigh from which the fat was extracted came down a lot, causing some pain. My eyes are very sore, but it does get better with ice packs, so I’m applying them as frequently as possible. There is eye mucus, but it is not severe and is gradually decreasing. I washed my hair for the first time with the help of my husband, and I plan to wash my face in the evening. My face still looks unfamiliar every time I look in the mirror, but I am curious about how my face will turn out when all the swelling goes down. It isn’t easy to see with long tapes still attached to my face; I have a strong feeling that the thread-lifting also went well. OH, how I want my suture removed ASAP!
1st week :
The swelling has subsided considerably, and the bruises became slightly yellowish under the eyes. I was worried after reading about how the suture removal for epicanthoplasty can be painful, but it was pretty tolerable as it felt like being pricked with a needle. I am still being careful as I was told that the thread could break if a big shock is applied to the face. Despite hearing from many people that the thread-lifting procedure could be painful, I’ve found it to be tolerable. After removing the Duoderm, I am experiencing a slight pain as I freely move my facial muscles. It may be because I have little bruising and swelling, but as long as I don’t make excessive facial expressions or touch my face hard with my hands, I don’t feel much pain at all.
2nd week :
The swelling is almost all gone, and there is only a small bruise on the cheek. Forehead fat grafting has almost no unnaturalness with just the right roundness and doesn’t feel weird when touched. It also became possible to move my face and eyebrows freely, though a slight pain remains in the cheeks. I tried basic makeup for the first time after surgery and quickly realized I had to tap the cushion very gently. The surgical site for the lateral canthoplasty feels itchy, and the eyes are dry, so artificial tears are often used. I would strongly recommend wearing either sunglasses or glasses when going outside.
I hear from people around me that my eyes look brighter and that they’ve become more cat-shaped. I now genuinely feel that getting canthoplasty surgeries for my eyes was my best choice. Though I was a bit worried about the fat graft, now that I look at the result, I think it’s not too much but just right. Thanks to the thread lift, I also like that the corners of my mouth went up slightly, giving me a smiley face.
3rd week :
Now, there are only bruises left that makeup can cover. Movements also seem more natural than the last week. Until last week, there was a slight unnaturalness in my face, but now that it’s become so natural, all of my acquaintances I meet compliment that my surgery went so well. People around me show very enthusiastic reactions since they thought my surgeries were relatively simple compared to other surgeries, such as rhinoplasty, facial contouring, facelift, etc., yet I’ve changed so much.
1st Month :
At last, all of the swelling and bruises are perfectly gone. Also, for my thighs, 90% of the bruises have gone down. There used to be some awkwardness in making facial expressions and pain when touching the face, but I’ve recovered to the extent that there are no problems at all in daily life. I’m delighted that all of my forehead wrinkles I was greatly concerned about have disappeared and that the sunken cheeks now look full. Now that it’s been one month after surgery, I can wear eye makeup. I was worried I would look awkward when meeting my friend after a long time, but I heard how she was surprised to see such a natural outcome with a generally smoother, younger look. This is precisely the result I wanted. To become more youthful and prettier naturally without people knowing what it is.
2nd Month :
It’s been two months after the surgery, and my face is almost perfectly natural. Although the swelling went down quickly in my case, there definitely is a difference between the pictures right after the surgery and those taken recently. There are no longer any facial sagging or wrinkles that annoy me, and I do indeed look less tired. I’m especially satisfied with my eye surgery and the forehead fat graft. Before, whenever I went out, I used to avoid looking in a mirror as I didn’t want to face my old and tired self. But these days, I do not dislike what I see in the mirror. I feel like my eyes look big and beautiful even without any makeup, and I became more confident as the forehead wrinkles are no longer visible. I always had to have my bangs to hide my small forehead with wrinkles, but now I look young enough even without a bang. My husband, after seeing my new face, now thinks I should routinely get thread-lifts. It seems that, for the fat graft and the thread-lift, it’s from the two months after the procedure that the result can really be seen.
3rd Month:
It’s been three months since thread lifting + fat transplant procedure, so I finally got to get the 2nd round of full face fat graft. Knowing what to expect already, I visited the hospital without any worries. It was once again on the forehead, cheeks, and temple area that a fat graft was performed. First of all, the pain after the procedure was much less than when it was done with a thread-lift. The plumpness seems to be lasting for a longer time. If the doctor recommends it, I strongly recommend you get up to the second fat graft! I looked natural after the first round of fat graft, but now, after the second round, all of my friends praise me for getting prettier, haha. I often hear that my surgery went so well. They are all amazed at how my face could have become so small without any unnecessary space, only by face-lift and fat graft procedures. I guess it was the 3-dimensional aspect that was improved as a certain volume was created through the procedures. When looking at my old photos, my face looks like a dried flower, haha. But now, my facial skin has vitality and volume, even in my eyes. My skin texture has significantly improved, maybe due to collagen regeneration through thread-lift and fat graft.
