Before the Surgery
While working as a model, I noticed that my face looked disproportionately large in photos, and I often wished for smaller cheekbones.
Despite people telling me that my eyes, nose, and mouth were proportionate and that my face was small,
taking pictures or videos was stressful, as it seemed like my face was stretched to the side.
I had always desired smaller cheekbones, but when considering bone-cutting procedures, which are major surgeries in plastic surgery,
I hesitated and couldn't bring myself to schedule a consultation. Over time, my confidence in taking pictures waned,
leading me to research reviews and the ideal face design from various hospitals.
Knowing that bone-cutting surgeries have limitations due to nerve lines,
the surgeon and manager at View showed me CT photos without exaggeration and counseled me honestly, instilling trust for surgery at their facility.
The surgeon understood my concerns and not only recommended addressing my cheekbones but also suggested adjustments for the jaw,
which contributed to the perception of a wider face.
He also advised addressing asymmetry rather than focusing solely on the chin.
Finding the right hospital was challenging as I aimed for a natural enhancement rather than a conspicuous change from plastic surgery.
I am eagerly anticipating the surgery because the surgeon comprehends my concerns well.
As I’m a student and next year marks my graduation, I aim to have the surgery performed soon so that I can take a beautiful graduation photos without swolen face.
Day 3 :
When I woke up in the recovery room after the surgery, due to the anesthesia, I didn't immediately feel pain in the operated area.
Instead, I experienced nausea, dizziness, and bloodshot eyes, especially around my mouth,
which hurt the most. Immediately after the surgery, I couldn't utter a single word because my mouth couldn't open.
The overall discomfort wasn't more severe than after my nose surgery last year,
but I felt dizzy, had phlegm, and the most challenging part was coughing.
After the removal of the blood bag, it became much easier to open my mouth, and the pain around my mouth also disappeared.
Surprisingly, despite people around me saying that removing the blood bag is painful, I didn't feel any pain.
Upon going home, I boiled porridge immediately after discharge.
Eating with an ice cream spoon didn't cause much discomfort.
However, taking medicine was a little uncomfortable due to the bitter taste when it melted on my tongue.
On the morning of the second day post-surgery, my face was swollen, and I couldn't open my eyes.
However, the swelling reduced as I kept moving and applying ice packs.
I could also open my mouth a little wider, allowing me to start talking.
By the third day post-surgery, the swelling remained, but talking became easier compared to the previous day.
I returned to work, where I continued talking while working.
Although my pronunciation was slightly unclear, I didn't experience pain while talking or eating,
so I didn't take any painkillers. During a hospital visit, I received a shampoo treatment.
The doctor confirmed that the surgery went well without any inflammation.
He also removed the tape from the fat transplant and jaw, and the thread will be removed on the 7th day post-surgery
1 week :
On the 7th day post-surgery, I visited the hospital for a progress checkup.
During the appointment, the doctor removed stitches from the facial contouring surgery,
stitches on the thighs from the fat transplant (as the fat was transplanted from the thighs), and at the dermatologist, I had the face taping removed.
For the stitches inside the mouth, melting thread was used, so there was no need to remove it separately.
Despite hearing many reviews about pain during stitch removal, I was pleasantly surprised as I didn't feel any pain.
This might be attributed to the experience of the nurses or perhaps because the wound had healed exceptionally well.
2 week :
As I was busy with my job at school, I didn’t realize it's been two weeks since the surgery.
The swelling on my face is reducing as the days go by. I also started wearing makeup on the 12th day post-surgery, but since I had a fat transplant on my face, I had to pat my skin carefully.
The swelling on my face has gradually gone away, so when I put on a mask, people seemed to not notice that I had surgery.
At first, the bone under my chin was hard and swelling, and it looked like a double chin, but now the hard part is gone, and I can feel that it has disappeared.
I still cannot see the line well as the swelling is still there, but I’m satisfied with the fact that I don’t have a double chin when I smile.
When I wake up in the morning, my face is still swollen, but it comes back to normal at night.
As the threads in the mouth are a melting type, I didn’t have to remove them separately, but it is still uncomfortable when I’m eating.
Brushing and gargling are essential right after eating.
I can also pronounce words clearly and eat foods such as tteokbokki or bread without any difficulty.
The surgery went really well as I don’t feel any discomfort, and it would be great if the swelling disappeared as well.
3 week :
Time passed really fast, and I didn’t even realize it's been three weeks since the surgery.
I still need to be careful when I remove makeup, but I’m satisfied with the fact that I can put makeup back on.
At first, the swelling went down really fast, but in the 2nd and 3rd weeks, the swelling is going down slowly.
Maybe it's because of the liposuction under my chin, but I still look like a chipmunk because my chin and cheeks are very swollen.
I hope this swelling will go away in the next month and become more natural.
I don’t feel any pain anymore, even when I touch the fat-grafted area.
Up to the 2nd week, when I tried to raise my eyebrows or use my forehead muscles, it was painful, but in the third week, the muscle has recovered.
If you want a full volume and noticeable face, you'll have to get the 2nd shot, but I think the 1st shot is enough to fill up the volume.
It's not unnatural right now; it fills up naturally, and the swelling goes down moderately, so I think it's the prettiest right now.
There is still a lot of swelling left in the contour surgery, so the face is more puffy than before the surgery,
but it is a relief that the cheekbones and square jaws are seen to be smooth.
I hope that the swelling will go away as time goes by, and I can see the face that was operated on.
1 Month :
Until the 3rd week, as I've been sitting down and studying for exams,
the swelling reduction process was slower than before, but it started reducing after I began taking walks.
My friends who see me every day said that the swelling on my face has reduced a lot,
and those who see me for the first time can't even tell that I underwent surgery; it looks natural.
After the surgery, I couldn't feel anything under my chin, but now the sensation is back.
However, the liposuction part under the chin is still hard, so I'm trying to stretch my chin a lot.
The cheekbone area also healed well, and there isn't even a scar.
People around me ask me to show them the scars, but there is none.
I healed my cheekbones so well that I couldn't find any trace of them.
Everyone asks me to show them the scar, so I'm surprised that it's too easy to show them.
Although the left side is less swollen than the right side, it's not very noticeable, and the difference can only be seen when touched with the hand.
I can eat everything without any restrictions now. There was nothing wrong with brushing my teeth, and I couldn't find any discomfort after the surgery.
As I got the effect of shortening my face, I often hear that I look young these days, and I have a cute image.
I originally liked mature images rather than cute ones, but I don't think it's bad when I listen to it. I'm looking forward to my face where all the swelling has gone away.
2 Month :
Two months have passed since the surgery. The swelling got better than before, and my face looks more natural,
but there is still some swelling around my mouth. Initially, I did the surgery because I wanted to take pretty selfies,
but now I take more pictures with my back camera. In my opinion, one of the advantages of having facial surgery at View Plastic Surgery is that it looks so natural,
as if you were born with this face. It's natural to the point that people won't notice you had plastic surgery unless you tell them.
I used to mention that I had my face done at a hospital, and everyone responded that they didn't realize it went so naturally.
Now, I plan to do a lot of mouth muscle stretching and start dieting at the same time.
3 Month :
Its been three months since the surgery. My face is less swollen now even when I wake up in the morning.
I still feel tightness sometimes so I need to stretch my chin often. The incision in the mouth is no longer uneven and smooth even when touched with my tongue.
Also, I can't find any scars on the side of my mouth. There was no problem with chewing at all.
Because the shape of my face gets prettier, I often ask others to take pictures first, rather than taking selfies.
I feel so happy as the surgery result come out so natural and its so nice as no one know that I underwent surgery.
4 Month :
The amount of swelling in the morning has definitely decreased a lot compared to before.
Usually, every time I do my makeup, I contour my face, but I'm shocked that there's nowhere to contour as my jaw looks so sleek.
That's why these days, instead of letting my hair down, I've been doing a ponytail or bun more often.
The asymmetry on my face has also improved a lot. The human face can't be perfectly symmetrical, and I'm already too satisfied with my face now.
The swelling is there on both sides of my face, but I believe it will be more symmetrical after the swelling is completely reduced.
5 Month :
Time flies so fast, and I can't believe it's been five months. At first, I didn't notice much change because of the swelling,
but when I look back at the old pictures, I can see the difference. The swelling doesn't come out the same way on the right and left,
but it's not a big difference, and you can look closely in the mirror by yourself. It's a subtle difference that you can tell.
Up to the fourth month, every time I washed my face, I had a tingling sensation, but now it's fine.
I can even tap my face comfortably when I put on makeup and wash my face.
The remaining swelling is a bit on both cheeks next to my chin, as if I'm biting candy, and this also seems to be a cute face in its own way.
Still, I'm looking forward to seeing the swelling completely go down and become slimmer.
6 Month :
It seems that the swelling from the surgery is gradually reducing.
Initially, the left side diminished noticeably compared to the right side, which caused concern about asymmetry.
However, I now feel that both sides have become very similar. The shape of my face has transformed from an angled appearance to a rounder feeling.
Consequently, my makeup technique has also evolved. While I used to draw my eyebrows at an angle, these days I find they look better with a round shape and straight eyebrows.
When I first underwent surgery, the idea of contour surgery felt significant, but it turned out to be easy to manage and contributed to making my face look naturally prettier.
Another noticeable change is that before, I only took pictures with the left side of my face, but these days, I'm also comfortable taking pictures with the right side!
