Under Eye Fat Repositioning Surgery in Korea: My Real Story

This review features an actual patient of VIEW Plastic Surgery and is published with the patient’s consent.

Before My Eye Bag Fat Repositioning Surgery in Korea

Hi everyone!
I’m Park Seong-jin, and I currently work as an actor. For years, under-eye fat or ‘eye bags,’ as we call them was the number one thing that stressed me out every time I took photos or filmed videos. Since I make a lot of Reels and Shorts for my work, I was never fully satisfied with how my under-eye area looked on camera.
But this time, my agency, Painters, happened to connect with View Plastic Surgery, and I finally got the chance to have under-eye fat repositioning surgery!

Surgery always felt like something far removed from my life, so this opportunity brought a mix of excitement, worry, and even a bit of fear. I did my homework reading reviews, before-and-after photos, and researching plastic surgery in Korea at several clinics. One thing I looked into was cost, and I learned that pricing for eye bag surgery in Korea really depends on each patient’s anatomy, condition, and the exact surgical method used, so it’s something you find out during a personal consultation rather than a fixed number online. In the end, I chose View Plastic Surgery in Gangnam, Seoul because so many reviews praised how clean the clinic was and how natural and satisfying the results looked.
And finally, my consultation! My dedicated coordinator helped me schedule the date and time, and she was incredibly kind throughout the whole process.

On the day of my consultation, I arrived at the clinic and was surprised at how close it was to the subway station. Inside, the space was impeccably clean, and lovely staff at the front desk welcomed me and helped with check-in. After a short wait, a coordinator who was incredibly kind greeted me, walked me through every detail, and looked after me right up until my consultation. Before meeting the director, I first spoke with the head manager, who told me I’d see dramatic results from under-eye fat repositioning. She also suggested I consider ptosis correction (eye shape correction) at the same time something I hadn’t thought about before, but I was curious to try it. I agreed, and since the director was still in surgery, I waited a bit at the clinic’s in-house café.

After a short wait, the team leader let me know the director was ready, and we chatted casually on the way to meet him. The director examined my under-eye area and agreed I’d see dramatic results, which pushed my expectations up 200%! After answering a few more questions, my consultation wrapped up, and I left the clinic full of excitement.
Now, with surgery just around the corner, my heart is racing and my emotions are all over the place but since this is my very first surgery, I really hope for a great outcome!

Under Eye Fat Repositioning Recovery: Day 3 Update

For the first two days after surgery, all I did was sleep. There was zero pain from the procedure itself & it honestly felt like I was catching up on months of lost sleep. Swelling made it hard to open my eyes properly, and there was some bleeding around them, so I mostly kept them closed rather than trying to open them. But by day 3, it became easier to open my eyes, and the swelling gradually started going down! Of course, I stuck closely to my prescribed medication, used my eye drops as directed, applied ice packs, and even drank pumpkin juice to help reduce swelling faster.

So starting on day 3, my eyes gradually opened wider and it became more comfortable to see. People around me confirmed the swelling was clearly going down. They also said it was obvious the under-eye fat was gone. There’s still some swelling so it’s not fully visible yet, but I’m really looking forward to the final result!

Eye Bag Surgery Recovery Timeline: One Week Post-Op in Seoul

By day 7, opening my eyes was no longer a struggle at all! There was still a bit of discharge around my eyes, which was mildly annoying, but nowhere near as difficult as before. On day 7 I had a follow-up appointment at the clinic, so I washed up and got ready properly, it felt like my first real outing in a while. Looking in the mirror, I could clearly see the swelling going down and the results starting to show. My parents even told me that morning that I looked younger, which put me in a great mood!
By day 7 I felt comfortable enough to chat easily and cooperate with the clinic’s follow-up photos. Before seeing the director, I had a few progress photos taken and lost track of time just chatting with the staff.

While we were chatting, the director came in to examine me, and all I could hear was, ‘The surgery went really well!’ What a relief. I asked a few more questions, including why I was having trouble looking downward, and he explained it was simply due to swelling and the natural post-op healing process. He assured me that once the swelling went down over time, my gaze would naturally return to normal, and I left the appointment feeling completely reassured.

When I sent my day-7 front-facing photo to friends and family, the reactions were things like ‘No way!’ and ‘You can really see the difference!’ That made me even more excited to get through the swelling and back to normal life. I really feel like getting this surgery was the right choice!

Three Weeks Post-Op: Natural Results After Korean Eye Surgery

The swelling still didn’t seem too different from week two, and I figured it would start going down more gradually from here on. People around me agreed there was still some swelling, but they also kept saying I looked years younger and that they wanted to try the surgery themselves too—which honestly made me pretty happy, haha.

Starting week three, I gradually eased back into acting work with no issues and no pain, though I did have to be extra gentle around my eyes during makeup application—pressing too hard gave a slightly sore feeling. But once my stage makeup was on and I looked in the mirror, I was genuinely stunned—the under-eye fat was completely gone! It was so surprising that I kept checking the mirror over and over, haha. Because of that, my confidence doubled every time I performed, and I started enjoying it even more.

After performances, we usually have a short fan-signing session, and lately I’ve been hearing a lot that I look more handsome—which makes me feel like getting this surgery was truly the right call. I even found myself thinking, why didn’t I do this sooner?
I had so many worries before the surgery, but these days I’m genuinely satisfied with the results! I’ve noticed myself taking way more selfies lately, which is honestly proof of just how happy I am with the outcome, haha.

One Month After Under Eye Fat Repositioning Surgery

The swelling seems to be completely gone now, so I’ve been taking selfies a lot more often. My iPhone camera is brutally realistic, so I used to avoid selfies entirely, but now I’m slowly gaining the courage to take them, and my confidence is building! I finally understood why so many people choose plastic surgery in Korea, haha.

Now that a month has passed, I’ve started wearing contact lenses again, and when I touch near my under-eye area while inserting them, I still feel a slight numbness, it really reminds me that I actually had surgery. Still, there’s no real discomfort, and I’ve started confidently walking around without glasses again! Aside from being a little careful during washing my face or applying makeup, I feel completely back to normal!

People who heard the news a bit late look at my face and say things like, ‘You honestly look like you’re back in your twenties,’ and hearing that still makes me happy every time, haha. I also happened to go back to black hair after 8 years around the same time, which might be adding to those reactions too. I’ve fully returned to my normal daily life now, still with zero discomfort, and seeing myself living so much more confidently, I really often think this surgery was one of the best decisions I’ve made!

Two-Month Update: Fully Healed After Eye Bag Removal in Korea

Now that I’m into month two, my eyes look completely natural with zero awkwardness. There’s no discomfort at all in washing my face or daily life, just a slight numb sensation under my eyes now and then. Since my lashes are long and sometimes fall into my eye, I notice that under-eye numbness in moments like that, or when inserting contact lenses—it just feels a bit odd, but it’s never actually uncomfortable, haha.

Since there’s no pain whatsoever, I think that’s just how the sensation naturally shows up. I’ve fully adjusted to it now, and more and more people around me say my overall look has improved. As an actor, that kind of visual image really matters, and lately I feel like I’m being cast more, which makes me really happy 🙂 Once again, I’m reminded that I made a great choice!

Three Months Later: Confident With My New Look

It’s already been three months since my surgery. People who see me regularly are used to my new look now and don’t really comment on it, but anyone I haven’t seen in a while, or anyone curious about my surgery, is always surprised! I’ve also noticed I’m relying less and less on filters and retouching during video shoots and livestreams, which tells me my confidence is really growing!

The one thing on my mind now is that my dark circles seem more noticeable…? Haha, since the eye bag surgery went so well, other things are simply becoming more visible by comparison.
Pain and sensation are absolutely no issue anymore. I’m so used to it now that it honestly feels like this is how it’s always been. I’m still so satisfied with this surgery that once my busy season wraps up, I’m even considering having another area done!

Results after under eyes fat repositioining in Korea

Four-Month Results: Natural, Long-Lasting Eye Surgery Results

It’s already been four months! One of the people who said they wanted to get eye surgery because of me actually went through with it—so surreal, haha. My under-eye sensation feels like it’s fully returned to normal now, almost like I never had surgery at all, but then I catch my reflection and I’m reminded that I did have it done—the results are just that natural, and it still surprises me sometimes.

Now it seems like dark circles are the only thing left to worry about, haha. And these days, taking regular camera shots doesn’t scare me at all anymore! 🙂

Five Months Post-Surgery: Final Thoughts on My Korea Plastic Surgery Journey

It’s already been five months! My eyes now look so natural that I sometimes forget I even had surgery & people have no idea I got it done, and all they say is that I look younger! Hearing that never gets old, haha. These days, as my acting career picks up and I’m meeting more and more people, I haven’t had much time for photos, but my confidence has grown so much that I genuinely love who I am now 😆 Looking back, choosing under-eye fat repositioning surgery in Korea at View Plastic Surgery was one of the best decisions I’ve made for both my career and my self-confidence.

FAQ

There isn't a single fixed price, since the cost of eye bag fat repositioning surgery in Korea depends on each patient's anatomy, the amount of fat to be repositioned, and whether it's combined with other procedures like ptosis (eye shape) correction. Clinics such as View Plastic Surgery in Gangnam, Seoul typically provide a personalized quote only after an in-person or video consultation.

Most patients experience the heaviest swelling and bruising in the first 3–7 days, with noticeable improvement by day 7. Many, like this patient, return to work or normal activities around the two-week mark, while full, natural-looking results typically settle in over 1 to 3 months.

Established clinics in Gangnam, Seoul, such as View Plastic Surgery, follow strict safety protocols, including a no-ghost-surgery policy where the consulting director personally performs and oversees the procedure from start to finish. Many clinics also provide 1:1 personalized consultation, dedicated case management throughout recovery, and one-stop interpretation services so international patients can communicate comfortably at every step.

Eye bag fat repositioning, like the surgery in this review, addresses puffiness and hollowing caused by prolapsed fat under the eyes. Ptosis correction, on the other hand, adjusts the eyelid muscle to correct a drooping upper eyelid and open up the eye shape. The two procedures target different areas but are often combined, as this patient did, for a more refreshed and youthful overall look.

View Plastic Surgery is located in Gangnam, Seoul, within easy walking distance of a subway station, which this patient noted made getting to consultations and follow-ups simple. The clinic's central Gangnam location makes it a convenient choice for both domestic and international patients visiting Seoul for plastic surgery.
