Hello, my name is Budsaya.
Before getting deeper into my surgery experience, I want to explain about my current problems. I was born with asymmetrical jaw. Thinking that orthodontics braces will solve the problem, teeth malocclusion and sore in jaw muscles got worse. I sometimes even heard my jaw clicking when opening mouth. With obvious jaw asymmetry, I got worried and never felt confident with it at all!!
My first impression of the clinic was that it was big, luxurious, and very clean!! As I arrived, coordinators picked me up for CT-scan and teeth X-ray was taken before meeting the doctor for consultation so I know which procedures fit best for my case. In Korea, doctors specialized in each field will be doing surgery for instance there are eyes, nose, facial contouring, and double jaw surgery specialists.
These are the list of procedures doctor recommended.
1. Double jaw surgery
Before surgery day, at least 8 hours fasting was required so View’s coordinators actually took me to Korean BBQ! How sweet!
Because two jaw surgery and facial contouring were done at the same time, I had blood bags. I couldn’t drink water until another three hours and when it’s time, the nurse would bring in gargle and water together. Gargling regularly is very important for mouth hygiene to prevent any infection. That day, the nurse was there all night so I had no worries at all. I had to be hospitalized three days in total because it was a major surgery.
After Day 3
Today, I felt a lot more comfortable because blood drainages were removed and it’s finally the day
I can rest at my hotel! Deswelling treatment and shampoo service were provided which personally I thought was perfect for patients who are scared to cleanse and want a fast recovery. I didn’t have meals outside my hotel since I had to wear bite wafer, do some icing, and bandages around my face were necessary. The clinic prescribed 7 days medication and it had to be taken three times a day.
On day 7, stitches inside mouth and tapes on chin were removed. My vision is still a little blurry, but I was able to see how the results came out. I had another deswelling treatment so swelling wasn’t that severe. Cheekbones, jaw, and chin are now aligned straight. My jaw isn’t protruded anymore. Seeing my face shape makes me so happy! Oh, and it takes about two weeks until I can chew on soft food.
As my face was setting in place, I had an appointment on my nose surgery. Frankly, nose was something I was even more anxious about! Even more than double jaw surgery! Well the surgery wasn’t bad as I expected, pain was much lesser. Discharge on the day is possible after one-hour recovery.
After nose splint was removed, I truly felt amazing! Now I have a defined nose ^^ After that, deswelling and sebum control treatment was done to keep my nose clean. I almost fell asleep during the treatment, so comfortable!!
The surgery itself wasn’t that painful, except a little bit during the removal of stitches and when I had bite wafer. If you ask me if the surgery was worth it, I couldn’t ask for more. My face improved so much from lantern jaw, wicked chin, teeth malocclusion. Overall, I’m really satisfied with the surgery results.
Despite the remaining swelling, transformation is truly amazing! ^^ Oh and I forgot to mention that before surgery, I struggled searching for jobs but now I’m finally employed!!! ><
