Post-Surgery Hair Washing
Please read the precautions carefully before
visiting a salon for your first hair wash
after surgery.
Precautions
Before Shampoo
Check for Bleeding First
- You may wash your hair only
when there is no blood draining from the
face or surgical area.
- If you notice any active bleeding, oozing,
or unusual discharge — do not wash yet
and contact VIEW immediately.
Be Careful Around Stitches
- Always be gentle around the stitched area.
Do not rub, press, or scratch near incision
lines.
- Inform the salon staff about your surgery
and the location of your stitches before
they begin washing.
- Avoid applying shampoo directly onto
stitches. Ask the stylist to rinse carefully
around those areas.
Dry the Stitches Area Thoroughly
- After washing, make sure the stitched area
is completely dry. Moisture near sutures can
lead to infection or slow healing.
- Use a gentle, cool setting on the blow dryer
— avoid direct heat on incision sites.
- Do not leave the stitched area damp.
Pat dry first with a soft towel before blow
drying.
